USA Rugby Sevens Win Historic Bronze in Paris
Thrilling Last-Second Try Secures Podium Finish
"A Dream Come True," Says Team Captain
The United States Women's Rugby Sevens team has made history by claiming the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, the first Olympic medal in the sport's history.
In a nail-biting match that went down to the final seconds, the US team defeated Australia 14-12. With time expiring, Alex Sedrick intercepted an Australian pass and raced the length of the field for the game-winning try.
"It's a dream come true," said team captain Jess Waters. "We've worked so hard for this moment and it feels incredible to finally be on the podium. This medal is for all of the women who have come before us and for all the girls who will be inspired by this moment.
