Biden outlines Israeli proposal to end Gaza conflict

US President Joe Biden has outlined a new Israeli proposal to end the conflict in Gaza, saying it is time for the war to end.

Biden arrived in Israel on Wednesday to open a four-day Middle East visit that will focus not just on trying to slow down Iran's nuclear program.

Biden flew to Israel in a powerful show of solidarity last fall soon after the Hamas-led terrorist assault on southern Israel that prompted the war.

Biden has partly credited his pro-Israel world view to his father who insisted following World War Two and the Nazi Holocaust there was no room in society for anti-Semitism.
