Superettan: Sweden's Second-Tier Football Division
Overview
Superettan is Sweden's second-tier football division, below the Allsvenskan. The league was established in 1999 and has been operating under that name since 2000. Superettan is composed of 16 teams that compete in a double round-robin format, meaning each team plays every other team twice during the season. The bottom two teams in the standings are automatically relegated to Division 1, Sweden's third-tier football division.
